Our Purpose

Formative Youth Journalism Initiative helps bridge the funding and resource shortages of established student newsrooms. More broadly, our mission is to spark a passion for literature and writing, ensuring that every young mind, regardless of age, has the opportunity to amplify their voice within their community.

What is youth journalism?

Young people are uniquely positioned to make a meaningful change in their communities. Whether through widespread institutional involvement or individual initiative, society better responds to an issue when youth pioneer change in issues they care about.

  • Writing and comprehension of real-world happenings
