Announcement of 2025 Winners

The Formative Youth Journalism Initiative and the Pasadena Media Foundation received a total of 26 submissions this year, including essays written in English and Spanish. All results are final and were carefully selected through two rounds of review and by a three-member judging panel. Please join me in congratulating this year's winners of the "Sí se puede" Youth Essay Contest:

“Sí se puede” Annual Youth Essay Contest

César Chávez's Legacy: How Can We Learn and Make a real Difference Today?

The “Sí se puede” Essay competition is a bilingual essay writing contest in English or Spanish with a cash prize. Formative Youth Journalism Initiative and the Pasadena Media Foundation sponsor the essay contest. The contest is officially recognized and supported by the César Chávez Foundation.. The contest prizes are $250 for first place, $150 for second place, and $100 for third place.


The essay is due on April 30, 2025.
